When you give another person praise or thanks, you don't go on and on saying "I praise you, I praise you." or "Thank you, thank you." If that is all you ever said to them, they might think you don't really have anything concrete to praise or thank them for. The same is true with God. Be specific in your praise and thanks. Take a moment to write down all the things God has blessed you with in your life. Think about the things he has blessed those you love with. Take a long walk and try to thank God for every blessing you can think of. You might be surprised by some of the things in your life you never thanked him for.

When you praise him, consider meditating on one of the attributes of God each day. Pick one that pertains to how he worked in your life the previous day and be specific. He loves to hear how who he is makes a difference in your life.
